Welcome!

I am an empirical political scientist, currently working as a postdoctoral research fellow at GIGA -the German Institute for Global and Area Studies- in Hamburg.

I completed my Ph.D. in Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, where I was a researcher at the iLCSS.

I study political behavior and public policy with a focus on Latin America. My research examines crime and illicit drugs, and I use methods to draw causal inferences from experimental and observational data as well as machine learning approaches.

My work has been published in Political Studies, Nature:HSSC, Social Science Quarterly, Policing & Society, Latin American Politics and Society, among other journals.
